I want to buy a Blackmagic Video Assist 5" to use with my Panasonic HVX200s. What cable do I need to connect the monitor to my HVX200? The HVX200 has component out (red, blue Green) and normal AV outs (yellow-white) but no HDMI out. I assuming I need some type of SDI cable but I have never used them before. Please advise, thank you!

No, you can not connect a VA 5” or any HDMI/SDI Monitor to your HVX200 with just a cable. You need to get an Analog to SDI Mini Converter HD, to take the analog component output of camera and convert it to SDI to connect to the A, using a SDI/BNC cable between the Mini Converter and the VA. You are also going to need component cable from the camera to the BNC connectors on the Mini Converter.

If you want to upgrade you HVX200, I have a BM Micro Cinema camera kit available or a Panasonic AF100A, PM me.
