ATEM TVS and PS3

PostWed May 29, 2013 4:53 pm

Hi

Another question so apols for keep asking and apologies if it's out of turn.

We want to broadcast a PS3 tournament but the HDCP is an issue coming from the PS3. Has anyone had this issue at all.

There is a ViewHD splitter that claims to bypass this issue as we would need to take one HDMI cable from the PS3 output to the TV for the gamers and another HDMI cable to the TVS for broadcasting so would need a splitter anyway

by far the easiest way to do this is via component analog ...

component out ps3 to da ... one output of da to analog to sdi converter to tvs and one out put to tv for game play ... if you were planning on going hdmi then it would seem to me the distance is not that far so i doubt anyone will be able to tell a difference if you must have hdmi into tv then get an sdi to hdmi adapter and take the second output of the analog to sdi converter and send it to tv to be converted back to hdmi.

this is so much easier than dealing with striping the hdcp from the hdmi output.

Really sorry to ask a daft question, but as a complete newbie, but what's da?

Do you mean hdmi to RGB cable?

So, if my interpretation is correct

HDMI to RGB cable
Plug that into an analogue to SDI adapter
SDI out to ATEM TVS
SDI out to television to watch gameplay

This is what I think the poster was referring to.

However I think the idea presented was to use the Component output from the PS3 (and to feed that to that DA device). However it is my understanding that at least for newer PS3's the component outputs do not allow for HD quality output.

There are a couple of hdmi to sdi converters that dont use hdcp.
I believe the avue one on amazon would be suitable.
