Cineroid EVF4MSS with Black magic Cinema Camera problems

I recently purchased the EVF4MSS to go with our Black Magic Cinema Camera. I just tried hooking it up today and it didn't work. I tried turning both things on and off a few times and tried a few other things but to no prevail. Basically when I connected to the camera the EVF would stop working. It was still powered up but the screen went black and the menu and other buttons would not work. Is there a mandatory firmware update for these to work together? I also read that I need a special cord to update the firmware for this EVF. However this cord was not in my box and I have no idea where to get it. Please help ASAP!!

Did you ever figure it out? I just bought the same one....Hoping that you might be able to help me out.

I have the EVF4CSS, which is just the plastic version, I believe, and it worked right out of the box. Have you tried hooking it up to a different camera to make sure that they EVF itself isn't busted?
