Micro HDMI - the weak point

PostTue Dec 10, 2013 10:05 am

Hi all,

I'm looking for something like the LOCKPORT that is available for the 5D.
May it be similar adapting to normal HDMI, or at least some cage where you can clamp the micro-hdmi cable to avoid stressing the connector.

Even the softest cable are to stiff and all the available cages I've seen are "ignoring" this - in my opinion - weakest point.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Yes I agree. The HDMI connector is the WORST.

I've been using the wooden amera rig with their cable clamp and it's been working great.

Agree the HDMI is shocking on the BMPCC….
BUT I think the power plug is equally "toy like"…Ive bent a couple of power adaptor tips already…I really fear for it……..

Swedish Chameleon has nice port locks on its cage. Let's hope other (Viewfactor? Tilta?) will develop similar solutions.
