BMPCC vs BMCC Lowlight Test

PostThu Dec 12, 2013 6:28 am

There is about a thousand reasons why this should not be considered a shootout. Its just a comparison that I made because I'm soon shooting a gig in a relatively dark club and wanted to get an idea how they differ when treated the same.
Shooting for fun.

Cool.

It´s interesting how much more effective de denoiser is on the BMCC, that´s the advantage of denoising at 2.5k and downscaling to 1080p i guess.

Would you advice shooting the native 800 and pushing it in post or doing it in 1600, pushing it less?

Looks like the BMPCC is providing more detail but the Denoise is more effective on 2.5k as stated

Im so sorry but I just thought about a little detail,
The raw was not graded or denoised, so the denoised BMCC footage was 1080p as well (prores), MY bad :)

It actually says so in the graphics but still I forgot :)

I always shoot 800 no matter what lighting condition (within reason). Not saying its the right way to go but I like what I get from it.
