Bug Report - BMPCC firmware update won't install

BACKGROUND

EDIT: DaVinci emailed me the answer. Check my reply to this post below. Though I will leave the following here for others who have the same problem.

Hi,

I already emailed Blackmagic, though I haven't submitted a report from https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/, because I have their email, and they've responded from the same email they reply to from that link in the past. I also have resolve studio, and it's been like 3+ days so far, and still no reply...

I also asked this in General > Davinci Resolve, and was told to ask it here instead, so I'll delete it there.

Anyways, I have a bmpcc 6k g2. I'm trying to update the firmware to 8.6, which is the latest one, from 8.1, so I can view my videos, and delete them directly from the camera.

8.1 previously had the software on WIndows 10 for it .


STEPS I TRIED

1. When updating on windows 10, I first tried installing the new firmware update program over the older one from v8.1. That didn't work...

2. So I tried uninstalling 8.1's software on Windows 10 from Control Panel > uninstall, and it refused to.

3. So I deleted C:\Program Files\BlackMagicDesign\ according another forum post, and ran a program to force delete the registry keys for it. I checked it, they were all gone.

4. With every option I've tried, I got the same response in the images below. The errors happen in the order I show. I'm also including the log file for it.

Shortly after posting this, DaVinci sent me the answer, and it works.

Since I used a Windows 10 system for the update, they said to go to the link below, download that, and follow through.

Works fine now.
