Hello everyone,
I have a particular issue that I haven't found a solution and would like your opinions on that.
It is about recording issues when powering my 6K Pro from external power on the 2pin connector.
When powering the camera internally, either np-f or dummy, everything works perfectly and I will not refer it again from now on.
When I try to power it externally though (wall power, np-f adapter or V-mount), the camera works but when I press record, the timecode becomes red, gets stuck at 00:00:00, camera is not recording, screen continues displaying normally and you cant enter the menu. Of course I have to remove the power to solve it.
This seems like a firmware bug or a hardware issue.
BUT...what I just described doesn't happen when I record ProRes. Then, everything works great with external power like nothing of the above had ever happened.
The second BUT is that if I switch to ProRes, record just one clip and then switch to BRAW, the camera works perfectly again, like nothing happened. As soon as I close the camera though I have to do this again in order to use BRAW.
Have you ever heard of this behavior and do you have any ideas for any possible solutions?
I have contacted BD twice and they have told me to send the camera in.
It is not worth it since it is out of warranty and I have come around this issue by using internal power solutions
P.S 1 I have never tried powering the camera from the USB since I am using external SSDs to record.
P.S 2 I have tried multiple firmware version and the results are the same every time.
