I've been having a slew of issues with my M.2 SSD's that I've been using for a while now on my BMCC6k and Pocket 6k. I have another post talking about how my M.2's started bricking both my cameras. Turns out after Camera 8.5.1 they started removing compatability with a lost of M.2 drives. I noticed in version 8.6 I started to get a lot of dropped frames, didn't think much of it but did get worried.
I updated to 9.0 recently and when I went to do some tests before a shoot, hitting record bricked the camera. The only solution was to plug the drive into my Mac, inspect the drive, change user "Everyone" to have read and write permission (You don't have to do this on T7 shields btw) to get it to record. I still coulnd't format the drive in camera as that would brick it.
Today I reverted all of my cameras back version by version until I could format my m.2's in camera. The version where I regained that function was Blackmagic_Camera_Setup_Macintosh_8.5.1.
So if you rely on M.2's I would recommend reverting to that version to regain full functionality of your drives.
