Pyxis resolution options for 6k FF?

PostSat Sep 14, 2024 9:15 pm

A lot of my deliverables are in 16x9 and I end up cropping the 17x9 DCI images from my 6k FF and P4k. I'd love to keep the full sensor width by shooting native 16x9 for these projects - and it looks like the Pyxis does exactly that.

Since the Pyxis is essentially a re-packaged 6k FF, does anyone know if the Pyxis resolution options will make their way to the 6k FF?

I assume that the 16:9 shooting modes will come to the 6K FF on a future update. I'd like to point you to my feature request which would go a step further and bring Ursa 12K style resolution selection to the both cameras as well as families of crops that based around optimizing use of image circles.

Excellent suggestion and I hope BMD is working on that along with offering custom anamorphic desqueeze in every resolution/aspect-ratio combo since there are so many anamorphic lenses on the market now.
