Grainy on 6k Pro

PostSun Dec 01, 2024 3:42 am

Hello,
The images on my BMPCC 6K pro have become much grainier than before. The images are quite poor even though the lighting was good and I was at a low ISO.
The colors are not sharp, impossible to get the perfect black color.
When I magnify the image to see the rgb pixels that are not black it looks like the pixels are parasitic.
I tested with several lenses
Reset camera and Calibrate image sensor.
update Firmware to 8.6

In low light it was incredible and now even with decent light I get grainy images.

I feel it's sensor issue?

Can you post a short original sample to a cloud service?

Have you done a recent sensor calibration?

Your sample was shot at 3.200 ISO and is looking quite normal to me.

Grainy on 6k Pro

The sensor is dual ISO, one range is the 400 ISO and the other range is the 3200 ISO. I shoot exposing for either ISO 1600 or 1250 ISO which look better than using 3200 ISO. I’d recommend you try those options. The noisiest option is 1000 ISO from the 400 ISO range. One might think 1250 ISO would be cleaner than 1000 ISO, but it doesn’t work that way.
