One Little Remote Calibration

PostThu Jan 30, 2025 8:57 pm

So, I have a BMMCC G1 and a One Little Remote, v4 (I believe), all bought used some time ago. I've read what sparse documentation I can find* and followed directions as best I could, yet there is consistent inconsistency in the calibration of ISO and WB. (And more, but these are the two of most concern now.)

While aperture calibration / lens ƒ stops is mostly good, the OLR changes the ISO and WB in the camera when it's energized. Of course, it's supposed to, right? Plus, the OLR instructions say that the device is intended to be left "on," so I leave it switched on so that when the camera is energized, the OLR, too. Phil pointed out in those instructions that the camera / OLR sync is lost if ISO / WB are adjusted in camera, therefore the OLR must be used for all adjustments. Fair enough, but getting to the original calibration, or getting any subsequent calibration to stick has been an exercise in frustration. I'm missing something, just cannot quite figure out what.

So, if anyone knows, how might I get the ISO and WB on the camera to align with the ISO and WB on the OLR, and stay that way?

*** EDIT some hours later ***

So, by setting, resetting, and disconnecting / reconnecting I've gotten all the parameters to remain in place power off to power on EXCEPT for WB. White Balance displays randomly each time the camera / OLR is shut down / turned on. I'm having a hard time understanding the logic at work here. If anyone can clarify, please do.

*** End EDIT **

Thanks,

Christopher

* finding documentation — after mostly fruitless web searches, I ended up querying the Wayback Machine and, lo and behold, found some pertinent .pdf instructions for reference.
