I agree! It would be absolutely beautiful to run live streams directly from the Blackmagic Camera App.
And fixed shutter with auto iso&wb.

Yes and imagine it could SRT to a Streaming Bridge into switchers and could allow camera control to be used from the switcher to the iPhone.

As far as I know, there is currently no app for either iPhone or Android that allows you to launch video streams with manual camera settings such as fixed frame rate, fixed shutter speed, disabled EIS, enabled OIS, and automatic ISO & WB & FOCUS. Am I right?

I know I'm late to the game here, but this app is fantastic

The one feature that would make this a complete game changer for me would be off-network remote camera control.

The reason I found out about this app was due to having to film an extension of an interview I shot a couple weeks ago, but am not able to travel to film it myself. The interviewee is in a location where it would be difficult and over budget to send an actual cam-op, so I'm essentially doing a virtual interview with a local's iPhone 15 Pro. The camera profile creation is great, as I can set most of the settings and they only need to load it, but if I could control their camera remotely in realtime from a different location, that would be HUGE

Also, definitely Auto ISO while shutter angle / speed is locked

Hello everyone, for me the BMC app is a wonderful example that you can make great movies with smartphones. Now I often have the problem that I need to have a remote control. But I don't have two top smartphones that I could use. so please: a remote app that also works on older android smartphones like Samsung S8 or tablets like Samsung Tab7FE is a heartfelt wish for many people - including me. Thank you very much.

I wanted to use my phone and this app as a roaming camera for interviews on live-streams, but it doesn't seem to be able to send live audio out via HDMI. I can get it to send audio when playing back recorded videos, so I don't see why it can't be sent live as well, unless I'm missing something...? Would be great if this could be added as an option.

What smartphone and firmware/OS version?

Just to make it clear: You are making/receiving a phonecall wanting to send/record both video and audio via a HDMI connection?

They already announced something like this. Did you watch the NAB 2025 presentation?

I have a few feature requests for this Blackmagic camera app. I’ve used filmic pro in the past that allowed this, and I’m missing it in the BM app.

My application of this software is on Network television series where cast members are performing FaceTime calls and the production has chosen to use the iPhone as the camera that records it. (In lieu of a production studio camera).

The features I miss, are remote camera control without the need for a wifi connection. And having the controls locked out on the recording camera when in remote camera mode. This allows the controlling camera to monitor and run/stop and prevent the cast member from accidentally hitting any settings while performing.

What’s also important for me, is that when the app opens, all the settings are exactly the same as when I last closed it. That way I can have the production iPhone prepped, and ready to go with confidence in the heat of the magic hour gogogo time of day.

As of now it still seems like false color still doesnt work correctly while using Apple log, it doesnt show any Blue or Purple. The bottom floor of everything just shows green (which should represent middle grey).

It would be great if false color could correctly show the clipping points of apple log (like clipping at IRE 79 for ISO 54, and clipping at IRE 96 For ISO 1600)

I have created my own false color LUTs to cover each ISO but it would great if this was all accounted for automatically with the settings and built in false color tool.

Also as a request, I would like if auto exposure would still function with the shutter angle locked but ISO unlocked? So I can get a quick exposure adjustment with ISO while maintaining a locked shutter angle.

+1 for this request,
I shoot real estate video where I am moving indoor to outdoors requiring auto exposure adjustment.
Just due to missing feature I am unable to use BMD camera app till now, instead use CinemaP3 pro which had implemented this feature.

Just tried Pearla Camera, which has a 4K Open Gate mode.
Sadly the quality is quite awful, looks like upscaled from an internal 720p stream.

That makes me wonder, does Apple even Allow capturing the whole sensor via their API like Google does?

Since you can capture the full sensor in third-party photo apps, I don't think Apple is blocking that.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

I've used this app on Android and iOS and the way that the shutter angle defaults to 360 instead of raising the ISO even mildly makes this app much less useful than it could be. I'd only trust it for full manual recording. ISO and shutter priority modes would fix these problems and I'd use it exclusively for everything. That feature would be a godsend. I see others have requested it too. Please bless us, BMD.
