Weird dates, no permissions for cameras, and one sandbox flagging it as malicious. Could also be someone rename/repackaging this app

Instead I mailed a warning to Melbourne and Manchester. Since corporate mail is not always the fastest in all cases (no reference to BlackMagic here - general observation), I also phoned and had a small warning chat with Manchester, and to top it off, I entered a post here; just to make absolutely sure, that the problem was noticed.

So, uh, since we've got some official people in the thread... any idea of when the legit version might be released?

BM never talks about future releases, I'm sure they won't answer.

I'm curious if the Blackmagic Camera App APK is official. It's important to know, especially for security and performance. Official apps usually come through trusted platforms like the Google Play Store or the company's website. Installing APKs from unofficial sources can be risky. Blackmagicdesign camera app for Android has come a long (and very official way) since this thread was started.
As of today it is version 2.1.0088 com.blackmagicdesign.android.blackmagiccam and available in google play store for selected devices.
