I'm sure the firmware update will permeate to the BMCC6K as well. But overall, I'm so happy Blackmagic answered the call and included these options in the newest cameras.

In fact, the URSA Cine really hit a ton of the things I've asked for over the years.

Did recall Grant saying the internal of their BMCC6K are different and much more powerful than their Pocket cameras despite its appearance and will open up to more potential with firmware updates but so far apart from the sensor size it looks like a Pocket and work like a Pocket minus Prores and I'm not seeing the "more powerful" advantages being implemented.

I'm excited about this possibility. I saw Cam's NAB report and him throwing the Blazar Remus lens on the Pyxis which is something I'm interested in. I'm hoping that the option comes to the CC6K in case that's the direction I go in.

Couldn't help but notice Sony adding 1.5 desqueeze support, likely in relation to the slew of 1.5x anamorphics coming out

Just wanted to put in another vote for a 1.5X option as I've started using an Aivascope 1.5X adapter.

I bought the CC6K from the sale and have my heart set on Remuses, Remii? Blazar Remus anamorphic lenses! Need that 1.5 action.

I vote also for the 1.5 support for the BMPCC 6k PRO as my 35mm nanomoprh is here :)

Hope this comes soon, with a 6K sensor a 1.5/1.6x desqueeze is perfect for a 4K output.

Yes please, for 1.5 and all other ratios. Using Nanomorph Zooms and need that small HD Monitor for desquees and crop. Would be so nice if the camera could handle that and send out a propper image on HDMI.

Anamorphics are becoming more and more widespread thanks to Blazar, Sirui, DZO and other brands...
Personally I'm using the Blazar for 80% of my shoots, they have a 1.8x squeeze which currently is only handled by the 4K-Super 35-4:3 on the BMCC6k. Why 1.8x isn't available on the 6:5-anamorphic mode is mind boggling to me. From competitive analysis I'd beg BMD to look into Portkeys custom desqueeze feature.

This is particularily handy as some lenses - such as the Blazar GJ 50mm has a variable squeeze ratio ranging from 1.65x to 1.8x at infinity.

there's something about the complexity of the camera having a specific stretch ratio, apparently.
I am dying for a 1.5x anamorphic mode on 3:2 on the 6kff.

I'm dying for a non-beta firmware.

Thought of a new Desqueeze option due to the 65mm sensor of the 17K: 1.25X

This came about because of the use of Panavision's Ultra 70, which was recently used on the feature film Sinners. And, it makes so much sense that the URSA Cine 17K 65 should get this desqueeze option.

Now, chances are that the only way to get this is with Panavision lenses. And, that means the need for the PV Mount. Which means the camera is rented via Panavision because they are rental only. Yet, still offering this option in camera means that the URSA 17K cameras rented through Panavision with their Ultra Panavision 70 glass can get that wonderful 2.76:1 aspect ratio.
