Add my cf express card not reading after the 9.5 update. I have an Angelbird AV Pro SE CF Express B 1TB. The card has been updated with the Angelbird card reader and was working before the update with my BMCC 6k.

Hi,
I’ve run into the same issue and have done quite a bit of testing on my end.

I can now confidently say the problem is not with the CFexpress cards. I’m using Angelbird AV PRO CFexpress Type B 1TB cards, all updated to the latest firmware (AVX2.15). They work flawlessly on one of my two Blackmagic 6K Full Frame cameras running firmware 9.5.

But strangely, on the other camera, which is running the exact same firmware, none of the cards are detected, no matter how I format them (exFAT or Mac OS Extended).

As a test, I downgraded the affected camera back to firmware 8.3.1, and all cards were recognized and working as expected again.

I also tried:
• A full factory reset from the camera menu
• A reset using the Blackmagic Camera Setup software
• Removing the battery and leaving it unplugged for over 10 minutes

Still no luck.

At this point, it really looks like this is a firmware compatibility issue affecting only certain hardware revisions of the camera. I’m in touch with Blackmagic Support now and hoping for a fix in an upcoming update.

Hope this helps clarify the situation. If you’re experiencing the same thing, I’d definitely recommend contacting Blackmagic too — the more of us report it, the more visibility it gets.

I use AV PRO SE CFexpress B 512 gb and have no prpblem reading the card with firmware 9.5.1 why does it only happen with some cameras and not others? Could they be build differently with different components?
