Immersive Pre-orders

Hello,

I entered my information into the pre-order page for the immersive camera awhile ago and still haven't heard anything from BM. Has anybody else?

Don't expect any replies until after the holidays. I guarantee that everyone at Blackmagic is on vacation for the holidays. There may be the occasional responses here on the Forums. But for the most part everyone has taken time off to enjoy the holidays as per usual this time of year.

I received an email about placing a pre-order, but no terms were included other than the cost. If anybody knows the terms, please share.

Are you familiar with the expression related to someone admiring a boat: “If you have to ask the price, you can’t afford it.” With BMD it seems we might say: “If you have to ask the terms, you won’t like it.”

By that I mean, so far their cameras all have a one year warranty except in those jurisdictions that mandate longer warranties by law. And only “for sale” not for lease or rent. Cash on the barrel head to an authorized dealer, not credit with monthly payments, unless offered by a dealer. And return policies also only determined by your dealer.

Did I miss anything?

Any update on release date? I have a project I'm bidding on now and would save a ton by using this.

Chad, you might want to get in touch with the BMD Marketing team to see if they’ll agree to loaning you a Cine Immersive prototype camera before their official production camera release date. They may have some terms tied to the loaner such as the right to use a trailer of the production for marketing purposes but I’m only speculating.

This might be clear by NAB2025, but that may not fit your requirements. Any conditions tied to a prototype would need to be added to your bid so your client’s agreement would be in place.

Does anybody who has preordered the camera have any more details on when it will be out in the wild?
