BMPCC 6k Clarity

I've recently purchased this camera because i'm shooting with a full frame anamorphic lens and it's perfect for it. The only issue is the clarity of the clips don't look super crisp as they should. Maybe i'm just looking too hard into it.

There used to be a speed booster on this camera from the previous owner. When you open your lens area does it also look the same as mine? am i missing a piece im not aware of? Thanks anything helps.

Anamorphic lenses are not sharp. They are intrinsically not “crisp”. Well certainly not the ones that you are using

For 1000 bucks, yeah it’s good lens.

Crisp just isn’t a quality any anamorphic lens has.

Even low cost good value ones.

Understood! I was posting the reviews both for their appreciation and - more importantly - a few suggestions when using it.

Seems like the OP was surprised with the results so might be unfamiliar with some of this info.

But if you want to add helpful hints as an actual highly regarded DP that would be great!

What aperture did you shoot the sample image at? The Blazars can be pretty soft until you're at T4, though generally speaking the advice above from the others is pretty sound - you're using a budget anamorphic and you kind of get what you pay for with these things. Personally, I quite like the look of the Blazars because they remind me of the anamorphics used a lot in 1980s Hong Kong cinema.

Oh and don't forget, there's no in-camera sharpening happening either.
