Urgently need blackmagick camera repair shop in NYC

Hello folks, I order an IR glass replacement because the original camera got mold just in 4 weeks stored away in a bag. Anyway, BM is unable to help find a place where they can change it. I am not very impressed with this company or this little problem the camera has. Does anyone know of a trust worthyplace. Thank you so much.

When I had problem with my pocket6k, from Italy to uk and back in 5 days, with a problems of out of Eu group. I think is strange that there isn’t a support center in USA that not give you same support especially at NewYork.
In the mean time if you need the camera you can rent it, newyork is full of rental where grab a camera.
Mold is a very bad enemy, but most of time is our fault.
If you move on place with high humidity you should fill the bag with silicon gel to avoid it.
I avoid it also when I go down in a waterfall with all my tools (in a backpack).
Anyway Panasonic to strength a screw grab my camera for two weeks, jvc to change internal cable ten days, and I can tell you more, but I want to annoying you.

For longer periods silica gel isn’t a solution. Get a dry cabinet.
For such a kind of repair, any camera service should be able to do it. You’ll just need to source the filter. There are Chinese offers, but I can’t tell their quality. When it happened to us, we got an OLPF instead.

In Brooklyn - they advertise Blackmagic repairs. But when I called, the tech on the phone's first answer was that they don't replace Blackmagic sensors. Since fungus growing on IR glass of Blackmagic cameras seems a fairly common issue, it made me wonder how much they really know about these cameras.

Anyone have experience with an NYC repair shop?

Ben did you try AbleCine? Do you know how the mold occurred? Just curious living in NYC and getting the Pyxis 12K the week after next?

I have a pair of Panasonic EVA-1's (I'm selling them now that the Pyxis is coming in) for years and never developed a problem.

NYC shouldn't be that humid.

Pocket 6K Pro

I’ve sent any gear that needed repairs to a branch out of California. That’s what I did when I had a Pocket 6K Pro get damaged on a rental back in 2022. Granted one fix led to another repair in some instances because not only did the Mini XLR Port and Headphone Jack need to be replaced, but so did the motherboard, and then the internal ND because I left it enabled during shipping and it got stuck due to being jostled around in transit. Either way, Blackmagic Support in California helped out and the camera is all repaired and working again.

I did have to pay for the repairs. At least the renter paid me back for the repairs caused by their damages.
