Video Assist 7" 12G power options

PostTue Jun 10, 2025 12:05 pm

Dear Blackmagic Video Assist users,
does someone have any insight as to which range of voltage the video assist is able to work with? The manual isn't very specific about it.
I'm considering it as my Steadicam monitor, but 12V only would be pretty unhandy as I'm a afraid a D-Tap cable straight from the battery plate (delivering ~16.8V when fully charged) might fry the device. Has anyone been brave enough to try this?

Ha! I asked the same question today. I have a cable but then saw that it wasn't power regulated so I'm afraid to plug it in.
