Video Assist 12G powered by D-Tap

PostTue Jun 10, 2025 11:09 pm

I want to be able to power my Video Assist 12G with a V-Mount battery because the L-Series batteries drain faster than a bucket of water with a hole in it.

I purchased this cable (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087JLXXQH?th=1) - but then looking at it I see that it is unregulated, but people leaving reviews are using it to power their BM cameras and accessories. Should I return it in search of a regulated cable or is this a non issue.

I really, really, really don't want to fry my Video Assist by sending too much voltage.

My V-Mount batter specs: (https://www.amazon.com/REYTRIC-13400mAh ... B09B3B93GF)
13400mAh
14.8V 190Wh

I have powered my BMPCC 4k with it, running constantly for 8 hours so that is nice, but I also don't want to fry my camera. Am I within the safe range of voltage for the Video Assist and BMPCC 4k?

I have been using this one without any issues on my Video Assist 7" 12G.

I edited to use correct link:
