Hi,

Cameras v9.6 is now available for download from our support page. This release adds support for the PYXIS Monitor to Micro Studio Camera 4K G2.

We've also added support for apply 3D LUTs on the SDI output, and fixed up the issue where the list based menu sometimes do not show up on some HDMI displays.

Are there any Blackmagic recommendations for functional adapters? Hopefully there’s an existing dual female dongle that will allow usb-c displayport passthrough and data, since the usb-c is the only way to record media.

On the NAB 2025 Update. Blackmagic Camera 9.7 Update was supposed to include Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor Support for the Micro Studio Camera 4K G2

You can add it using the touchscreen control via PYXIS Monitor.

I can't enter the setup page for my Pocket 4K from this version of Camera Setup. Is this a bug?

For those who are interested I have posted a video to demonstrate the menu system for the Camera v9.6 Firmware Update AND the ability to connect an SSD via a USB C Hub.

The video shows the new features of the camera that you can now access via the #PYXIS Monitor. If you missed the previous video, 9.6 now allows you to run a PYXIS monitor AND an SSD via a USB Hub!

I did not include the swipe menu where if you swipe left or right you can manually add data under Clips, Project and Lens Data. Some is automatically entered depending on your lens. e.g. If you are using a Cine Lens, the lens data would all have to be entered manually.

Note also, not all USB Hubs are supported.

Hi, I noticed that in the new update it is possible to pass the gain management by changing the scale in Iso but only through PYXIS monitor, in the classic G2 menu there is everything except that setting.
Will it be implemented in the future?

Not sure. We very much would like to go forwards with the touch based menu and try to not maintain 2 sets of control interfaces.

I don't know if you saw but it is not possible to enter the setup page for the Pocket 4K in Camera Setup 9.6. Do you know if a fix is underway? Or which Camera Setup version do you recommend to enter setup page for Pocket 4K?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a USB-C hub that works with the Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 and the PYXIS monitor? I tried using the StarTech.com 4-Port USB-C Hub with USB-C DP Alt Mode Video Output, model HB31C3A1CDPPD3. However, this USB-C hub only partially works.

When the PYXIS monitor is connected to the Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 via this StarTech.com USB-C hub, the camera's video displays on the PYXIS monitor, but the touch screen functions on the PYXIS monitor no longer work. The PYXIS monitor touch screen functions do work when I connect the monitor directly to the camera's USB-C connector on the side of the camera.

An external SSD connected to this StarTech.com USB-C hub appears in the camera's heads up display, and I can record to the SSD by pressing the physical record button on the front of the Micro Studio Camera 4K G2, but the PYXIS monitor's touch screen capability and the three function buttons on the back of the PYXIS monitor do not work when the PYXIS monitor is connected to the camera via the StarTech.com hub.

So we are still waiting on the cache record option for the Ursa Broadcast G2 and Pyxis?

I hope the Gain/ISO option in the Micro Studio also shoes up in the Ursa G2. It would be helpful when using the Ursa Broadcast G2 as a cine camera
