First impressions....

It's very good. Easy to use, stunning results with pin sharp detail. The workflow is quite simple and easy to get used to - we have a MBP retina that is capable of basic grading in Resolve, but having the mac is a big bonus for formatting SSD's, capturing via thunderbolt and transferring files on the move. We've edited on 2 PC machines with the footage so far and they have been even faster (i7, 24GB RAM, SSD boot disc, GTECH eSATA storage)

I'm blown away by some of the footage we have produced, and when work starts to die down a bit I will upload some test shots.

Because of delay issues, we haven't purchased many add-ons for the camera. We still need an EVF, and a battery solution - they will come in the New Year, but for now it works for us. I'm using it for shooting green screen footage and the results are fantastic - very easy to key, and the detail around hair is brilliant.

There are still some issues that need sorting in firmware - the main one being that we are still seeing the black dot issue over the sun....

Judging by the Christmas morning like panting coming out of Frank's house, I would say that one is already on the bag.

It's so nice to hear that people are digging the BMCC! It makes waiting a teeny tiny bit easier knowing a great camera is eventually going to show up on my doorstep..

After some research into exfat, i find no argument against exfat support. Anyone know something I don't?

actually now I can't confirm. i the max file size in exfat 16Gigabytes, or 16 exobytes?
if it's gigabytes then that's why it shouldn't be implemented. with raw we'll hit that ceiling every few minutes.
of course you could do what panasonic did with it's p2 cards using fat32, recording multiple clips at 4gigs and stitching them together later. but I've had friends that have mysteriously lost footage in the middle of long clips... just saying.

File size limits don't matter for raw, do they? My understanding is that a raw shot is stored as a sequence of frames. Each raw frame is a ~5 MB DNG file. At least, this is what I see from sample raws from John Brawley.

Prores and 220DNxHD are another story, but even a 16 GB file limit would allow close to 10 minutes of footage at 220 Mbps (I think).

It's 16 exbibyte to be exact... which is 1.152921504606846976 times 16 exabyte.. so even a little more

Shot with a Canon 20mm F2.8 - still learning with Resolve; this has a couple of nodes of adjustment on it.

this lens has a pretty good definition, a well controlled CA but

suffers from a rather massive amount of field curvature

I also prefer a full size tiff instead of jpeg
