Question for BMD: Rolling Shutter rate

PostMon Sep 10, 2012 1:44 am

What is the rolling shutter rate on the camera?

I plan to do 3-D tracking with the BMCC and If I can feed the correction software with the precise statistic that would help a great deal.

Thanks.

I can't help answer your exact question.

However, anyone who's curious to see whether there's any correction software out there to deal with rolling shutter might want to check this out.

I can't comment on how effective this is at reducing rolling shutter as I haven't used it yet but thought I'd share it anyway.

i know FCPX and APremier cs6 has a rolling shutter repair....It can be useful in some cases but maybe it won't be on many others

:)

Rolling shutter is the worst thing in a camera...in my opinion.

The edit:Foundry RollingShutter software requires that you specify a rolling shutter statistic. I forget what the statistic is specifically, but the 5D is around .5, and the Red is around .4, from memory.

It'd be great if BMD gave us the exact figure of refresh rate between pixels so that we can get the most out of RS correction software.
