Troubleshooting NO SSD

PostTue Apr 16, 2013 1:30 am

I recently shot on my BMCC EF mount to a Samsung 830 series 512 GB. The shoot went beautifully, the footage came out beautifully. I'm happy with my camera. However, I ejected the SSD and placed it back into the camera and the camera does not recognize the SSD (NO SSD). It does not even change to the loading dots.
I downloaded the footage via my ssd dock and formatted the card again according to instructions in the BMCC User Manual. Whether inserting the disk while the camera is off and then booting up, or while the camera is on, it does not recognize the drive.
I have another SSD coming later this week, but unfortunately do not have another spare currently to see. The disk is however read by my computer via my ssd dock, leading me to believe there is something I can do on the BMCC end. What are the best troubleshooting steps I can take at this point?

I've seen this issue with a PC where, if you do not unistall the SSD or eject it, the camera will no longer read it until you put it back into the PC then eject it.

I have not seen this issue with a mac, but if you're doing formats, use Disk Utility to format and definitely make sure that you're doing HFS system.

Always eject from the computer if you're going to the camera.

I've tried multiple variations of formatting all HFS system, I'm afraid the camera may just not be recognizing cards. I'll have to see when the new card arrives, although I have a shoot Friday, and will hope to know by then. Any ideas are still very much needed and welcome!
