BMCC Solution for power supply

Hello together,

After a long while I finally got my BMCC,

Now I'm searching for a cheap solution for the power supply.

Therefore it is difficult to work with V-Mount Batteries, I also have a Canon 5d mark 2 with the Canon LP-6 batteries

Is is a good idea to use them, which adapter is the right one?


How did you solve this "problem", what do you think would be the best and cheapest solution?

It really depends what you are after. You have to consider that cheap solutions give you
les running time.

I would buy a Lanparte V-Mount battery pinch $180 off Ebay,
Then get a Swit 190Wh V-Mount Battery,
then buy a new or used used Canon DR-E6 DC Coupler for $50 bucks new or less used for the 7D-5D DSLR's

The Swit 190Wh will last twice as long as the Switronix PB-70 that is bundled with the BMCC/BMPC
But will cost you since the bundle price of the Switronix PB-70 with the BMCC is only $95 extra,
Hence the reason I bought 2 BMCC cameras and sold them all for a profit without the Switronix battery.

Also I run the BMCC Camera, DP4 EVF, H4N off one Switronix PB-70,
Not sure of the exact battery life maybe 3 hrs max??
But I guarantee the SWIT 190Wh V-Mount Battery will power all three for twice as long.

Further more the Lanparte has more Power outputs and HDMI in-out puts than you would probably ever use. At the moment I can't find one on Ebay for $180, but just keep looking, they are there for less.

On my rig I run TiLTA V-Mount Power Distributor Kit (±£150) and a Swit S-8082S 88Wh V-Lock Battery. Sits on the end of my 15mm rails and does a nice job of balancing the camera when on the shoulder.

The Swit SP-82/304S Battery Kit I have comes with 2x S-8082S 88Wh V-Lock Batteries and a simultaneous charger for ±£515 or you could get the cheaper sequential charger kit for ±£485

This powers the camera, Alphatron EVF and smallHD DP6 monitor and is more than enough to shoot an entire day.

I think SWIT 190Wh for an average price of $300 is worth the full days shoot without lose of power?.

Bebob is releasing 190wh battery with internal charger.

I do not know the pricing yet but for small setup and production it seems great to have less gear to
carry around.

I should be out in 3 months or so.

Saw it on nab videos where they talked about light gage for BMCC

Sorry for diggin up a slightly old (and out of fashion) thread, but thanks for sharing the Tilta mount. I was looking at a cheaper one on ebay but I really liked the way this one mounts to a rod system with the swivel points, so I got it instead.
