Budget glass options for BMPCC

PostMon Apr 29, 2013 6:15 am

So I'm planning to pre-order the BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera, I also have a pretty tight camera budget. As such a collection of $600+ lenses is way above my wallet's limit.

I figured I'd post here for ideas on what to get on a budget (which can obviously help others in a similar situation). Searching eBay, Amazon etc isn't too helpful as there are piles of generic glass which I can only imagine is hideous.

Me personally, I like wide lenses or a versatile zoom lens. However I was thinking that it might be handy for others if people just suggested quality <$500 glass for the BMPCC, not just MFT but any adaptable mount that will work well with BMPCC.

So people for under $500 what lenses are worth looking at?

I'm looking at the panasonic 20mm 1.7 for a low-profile run and gun shooting. You can get it on ebay for like $270 used. I'll buy the red rock electronic ef to mft adapter for the rest of my lenses.

Will that cover S16 Frank? I thought those were made for 16 only?

Thanks.
