Cinema Pocket Cam Requires OSX 10.8

I am just wondering why the new pocket cam requires OS X 10.8 and if this is an absolute requirement? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

That is probably in reference to DaVinci Resolve.

The camera shoots in ProRes which will work on Mac OS X 10.5 - 10.8

Shooting compressed CinemaDNG may require 10.8. We don't know yet how the compression is being done or what is required on the software side to decompress.
