Build your own 2 Axis Gimbal stabilizer for BMCC?

PostWed Jul 17, 2013 8:52 pm

I have been entertaining the idea of building my own handheld rig with a 2 axis brushless gimbal. From the research I have done it seems like most of the gimbals people talk about are for smaller DSLR cameras. I would hate to invest in something that can't quite handle the weight of a BMCC. Anyone been working on something like this that can make a recommendations on some good parts?

I am aware of the Movi and the Defy. I would like to build my own and save some money if I could.

You might find Tom Antos' article on his site helpful: http://tomantosfilms.com/474/diy-digita ... ra-gimbal/. His is for a NEX5, but maybe his ideas and something at http://www.foxtechfpv.com/ could give you ideas.
