Blackmagic Cinema Camera and Tricaster XD300

PostSat Jul 13, 2013 11:27 am

Can anyone help?
I've just purchased a Blackmagic Cinema Camera and I'm trying to use it with a Tricaster XD300 but with no success. Trying to used the HD-SDI out of the camera direct to the tricaster HD-SDI input. Couldn't get any image at all on the tricaster. Would I need a converter? Please help? Tks!

I don't own a tricaster, but I know there is a setting on the camera where it adds in extra information through the SDI signal. Did you try turning off those settings on the BMCC?

My understanding is that xd300 wants 1080i. What are you feeding it from bmcc?

I could be wrong, but I believe the HD SDI output on the BMCC is only 1080p compatible. I filmed the other day and my DP had a 1080i monitor which wouldn't work. After a little research, I found that monitors had to be 1080p. Hope that helps.
