Sandisk Extreme version 2?

So everybody here is recommending the Sandisk Extreme 480 SSD. However, when I went to buy one, I noticed that there are 2 different versions of that SSD. The Extreme, and the Extreme II.

So which is the best one to get?

According to B&H the Extreme is being discontinued though I have not heard that directly from Sandisk. Have no experience with either, just passing along information.

The Extreme 480 is an approved SSD for use right now. The Extreme II is being tested by BM (as posted in another thread) but is not yet on the list.

So I would say just get the v1 version. Chances are, the v2 will be approved, but why risk it.
