Metabones speedbooster with sigma 1.8 zoom

PostTue Aug 13, 2013 9:49 pm

Hello,

I have a quick question for y'all.

What would the focal length and the aperture be with the metabones speed booster and with the sigma 1.8 zoom?

What would it be in full frame equivalent?

I am coming from full frame 5d2, so I want to figure out roughly the equivalent would be in full frame for low light shooting.

Thanks greatly.

I'm not sure if the speedbooster will work with electronic apertures but if they do it'd be something like this:

The extra stop of light is going to bring your f/1.8 to ~f/1.2 (I don't actually know how to calculate equivalent apertures but I'm guessing the FF equivalent somewhere in the f/2.8 range in terms of DOF)

FF FOV Equivalent would be:
on a BMCC MFT: ~30mm-60mm
on a BMPCC: ~36mm-71mm

So with the gain in speed, I am also bettering my low light by a stop like in traditional lenses. This is correct?
