How Does Iris Work in MFT BMCC 2.4k

PostThu Aug 22, 2013 3:26 pm

I was wondering if anyone can explain the difference between the autofocus and iris usage between the MFT and the EF mount for the BMCC in the 2.4k version.
Thanks
B

Mft has no use of the iris button (which should be reassigned to a metadata button)

I LOVE my MFT. Thanks to speedbooster. Makes my lenses, wider and sharper. Virtually adds 1 stop of brightness. Its like youre iso 1600

If you have electronic MFT lenses (Panasonic and Olympus lenses) they won't work on the BMCC MFT mount because there are no electronics in the mount. They will work on the BMPCC.

IRIS needs to be controlled manually via the IRIS ring on the lens when used on the BMCC MFT.

The BMCC EF will only control the IRIS on EF and EF-S lenses. Any other lens mount that is adapted to fit (like Nikon) will need to be controlled manually.

There is no autofocus support in the BMCC cameras. There is a slim possibility of it happening on the EF mount in the future but it will never happen on the MFT mount as its a passive mount (has no ekectronicms).

Correct.

There is (and never will be in its current design) no Speedbooster for the EF mount.
