Chinese dealer got a whole bunch of pocket cameras

BMD's Chinese dealer, OxygenTec, just posted in a Chinese forum claiming that they will get 20 pocket cameras on August 27 for sale, which is next Tuesday.

Maybe there's a bunch of billion potential customers in that market? Maybe the traffic doesn't take as long from Singapore or wherever they're manufactured to China than to US/Europe? Maybe he is wrong?
Maybe the world keeps turning? Maybe we all have had this before with the BMCC...

Maybe we should have a subforum related to all these questions to keep the cinematography-forum related to closer things?

There is a whole lot of maybe's there. So...
Maybe all the dealers are about to get more cameras
Maybe if there is a problem with the cameras they wont be able to return them.
Maybe something to do with a deal made re manufacturing or future manufacturing of the cameras.
Maybe 20 cameras for the whole of china as they are the only store wanting them is not that many.

That only can mean that many other dealers around the globe will be getting theirs.
CVP told me they expect getting an unknown yet quantity next week.

I'm in South Korea. A couple of weeks ago my dealer called my wife and told me I would probably get my camera in the last week of August. While I was apparently number 1 on their list I got the feeling that it isn't one of the single cameras first shipped but the first batch. So my guess is BM contacted dealers and said the first real shipment is next week. If everyone wasn't so twitchy about getting their camera then they would see this is exactly how BM said they would ship, first a single camera to limited dealers to iron out production issues and ramp up. My guess is a lot of people will get a camera next week, particularly if they were early orders.

Not sure if it's the same where you live, but at times it seems as if Blackmagic doesn't really communicate with the dealers on shipping. It seems as if most info comes from the distributors.

Yeah I'm sure your right, but my point remains the message got passed to them about next week. They rang me with the information so some communication must of triggered that, before that they had no idea of arrival times. I'm not suggesting anything comprehensive just some emails going out to distributors etc.
