bmcc dead pixels/hot pixels (lots of them)

PostSat Aug 24, 2013 1:23 am

ok so having just started testing for the next shoot I've noticed what i think are some dead pixels. I just need your opinions please guys before i waste mine and bmds time with an rma. so I've tried all asa and they are present in all. I've tried different lens and they are present on all. I've tried shutter angles, kelvins etc etc . they aren't nearly as present in the still as they are against a moving image (for obvious reasons). I don't remember seeing them before and a number of them are very apparent during moving images. heres a png taken from raw. zoom in to see them properly. what do you guys think ? dead pixels ? all help and opinions are appreciated cheers.

*unfortunately compression seems to have blurred most of them

It seems so. As quality engineer for a company that manufactures and repair both LCD/OLED displays and CCD sensors I would agree that you have way too many of both dead and hot pixels in that picture. :(
