Panic - Cannot access touch screen!!

PostMon Sep 20, 2021 1:54 pm

The botttom part om my BMPCC4K touch screen stopped responding and Black Magic support suggested that I should connect camera to PC and run an update via Black Magic Camera setup...

I did that but now when the camera starts, I am prompted to select language and push the OK button, but the OK-button is at the bottom of the screen that doesn't respond...

I am supposed to shoot next week and I am already panicking, is there a way to push the OK button using some other physical button on the camera? I have tried them all...

I do not have Blutooth activated in the camera so I cannot connect via the blutooth app...

Not that I know, to be honest the first thing that I would suggest at you is to search a rental to rent another pocket4k for the work, and later contact for rma Blackmagic Design.
I remember that there is a way to reset camera more deep with some button pressed during turn on and later do firmware update, in the forum someone write exact procedure but I should find it. This procedure may help you or not.

That would be the procedure:

* Ensure camera is not connected via USB.
* Hold down focus button while powering on camera. It will start up with a black screen.
* Connect camera to computer via USB
* Run the Blackmagic Camera Setup again

But I am not sure this will help with the screen problem.
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.
