Camera stops recording

PostWed Jan 22, 2020 1:51 am

My Blackmagic pocket cinema camera 4k stops recording after around 3-5 minutes of usage. When this occurs, a white exclamation mark begins to flash inside of the red recording button on the bottom of the touch screen. I always make sure my camera is fully charged before usage. I have a 64gb SanDisk Extreme PRO SD card in the camera that operates at 300 MB/s. I do not know what the problem is and I need help.

Hi,

This means that the card is dropping frames. I also don't think the 64GB Sandisk is on our certification list in the URL below:

San disk extreme pro 300mb/s are reading speed not recording speed.
Check code like v30/v60 that mean real speed of writing. If is common San disk extreme 95 is a v20, there is also v60 and v90 speed. Check with table of data writing in the pocket4k manual

For me (Ursa Broadcast UHD), my 300mb San Disk does not drop frames at ProRes HQ but my 170mb San Disk does drop frames at HQ and 422; but not at HD. Yet both read/write according to Crystal at same 97/86.

I've been experiencing the same thing with one of the 7 cameras that we use.

It records for some length but after while it start to flash on the camera but I'm not able to see the camera display because it is remotely operated. I had the status views on Atem with multiscreen but I don't think it shows it was having problem recording.

Is there any way I can diagnose the camera if it is faulty?

Any details on camera firmware and recording media?
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.
