No Image Stabilization Option - BMPCC6k

PostMon Jun 27, 2022 8:02 am

Hey, is anyone else not seeing the new Image Stabilization option on the setup page for 7.9? I've reverted and re-updated twice now and no select appears? I'm using the OG 6K and have tried 3 different lenses to no avail.

I'm super keen to try this feature... Any suggestions are welcome!

Which lenses have you tried?
The option in the setup page isn't for activating the gyro data recording, it is meant for switching on/off OIS for certain lenses. Normally if the lens got a dedicated OIS switch this one in the menu does nothing.

For your camera to record the gyro data you must switch off the OIS on the lens. The OIS would invalidate any recorded data because it brings the movement into an unknown state.
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.

You won't see anything in the camera. You have to import your footage into Resolve 18 beta 5 and there you will have access to the gyro stabilization as an additional option in the stabilizer menu.

This option only affects lens stablization, i.e. optical OIS and is only relevant to the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, so you won't see it on the 6K.

Gyro data is always recorded on other Pocket cameras as long as the lens OIS is turned off.
