Is there a way to speed up BRAW Quicklook?

PostSat Dec 10, 2022 3:23 am

When I preview BRAW files in Quicklook on my mac it works great for the first few files.. but as soon as you move to about the 4th file I get a spinner. It feels like it takes ages to load. Does anyone else have this problem as well?

I like to use quicklook to quickly scan through the clips and delete any junk but waiting for the thumbnail to load is unbearable.

I have exactly the same problem! No fix at this time. I use DaVinci to quickly cycle through the clips. Not as fast as the finder preview but faster if you wait for every 3rd or 4th clip to load :D

quicklook is a component of the finder and therefore I assume
that only a limited memory is available for this function.

macOS 12.6.3
BMPCC 6k pro (7.9.1)
meike s35 cine 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm
resolve studio 18.1.4

50 and 50, in past I remember that braw was cached faster and me too I was used to do a quick look by finder, but latest version of braw are not so fast.
Braw is not naturally supported by finder but installing resolve may be it install in the av foundation library the necessary to read braw from finder.
Something is changed, but nothing of wrong, today I was used to do ingest by resolve, split and trim braw clips directly from it.
