Any experience with the Canon EF-S 17-55mm F2.8 IS USM

No it will still be there. The Sigma IS is simply not made for video.

Michael, I'm not trying to dispute your responses and with all due respect, I'm not sure now what is meant by "weird chops" with the Sigma lens. I agree it is not a cine lens, as most still lenses are not made for it. Can you share a short video clip that shows this? We may be experiencing different artifacts with the Sigma lens. I'm just asking to gain some understanding. You may be right with something I have not encountered or totally different from what I have experienced. Cheers.

Yeah your description of "fast jerky change" suits better. But it ruined plenty of takes, even though I was extra aware of not triggering it. AF was always off. Lots of lenses have similar IS issue.

The EF-S 17-55mm is a dream on the other hand, always adapting smoothly to any motion you make with the camera. As I've said, never again had a better IS lens.

Do we have on the market lens with EF-S S35 coverage, with IS, which can be fixed or zoom with constant aperture and wider than ef-s 17-55mm?

Something like Tokina 11-20, Tokina 11-16, but with IS.

i had it, but is strongly wide, you can see deformation when you go near the lens, more than tokina, good to use on gimbal to have very wide angle but not to be too near to subject, if you are not Inarritu or Terry Gilliam that love wide angle deformation

But they don't have a constant aperture, any other alternatives, it can be non Canon lens.
