How hard can it be

working night and day! Just try to keep your promise!
Seriously, it's BMD to blame when it is those who have full responsibility.
It is BMD who have developed the product and that includes the glass that sits on the censor.
Everyone's precious time is lost. All because incompetence.

so it's time to over deliver on your promises.

Please check your facts before you post, other readers might think the information that you posted is right.
BMD did not develop the glass, another company did, and for your information the Sensor company did not develop the glass either.

He did not say BMD developed the glass. He very clearly states that BMD developed the product. The word "that" in the quoted sentence very clearly refers to the "product". The product includes the glass that sits on the sensor. No where in that sentence does it say that BMD developed the glass. Had he worded it slightly differently then your comment would make sense, but right now it looks like you are getting after someone for something they didn't even say.

I'm from Viet Nam, and I don't know how many BMCC come here?
I will come to the dealer office to have a look and then pay the bill to take it home, It cost me nearly US Dollar 4000 to own this one in Viet Nam.

I wonder if lots of people pre-ordered recently. I pre-ordered in late September and apparently I am 122nd in line with them. I hope that BMD can ramp up this week and start sending out larger amounts of cameras. Here's to hoping there won't be any more problems from now on :)

It has not been around for a while, this sensor still in ( sampling ) not shipping status, I signed an NDA with CMOSIS back in May 2012 for the CMV12000, now you can rent ( not cheap ) an evaluation board per day to test basic functions of the sensor, but the sensor still not shipping yet.
BTW no one so far complained about stability of the BMD camera sensor

The sensor is too small, just give us super 35mm like all other cinema cameras. We need 60p at least. I shoot frequently with anamorphic adapters and it is very hard/expensive to get an lens with internal zoom in the 28-100 range. The small sensor complicates lens selection. Black Magic has proven the market and should have the pull to get this sensor out there.

But things are looking quite good. This run of cameras next week will test the sensor supplier's ability to build sensors without contamination and to also be able to test them correctly so we only get good sensors. If that's all ok then we look like we will be able to move back into production.

I will update everyone next week when we know. I also hope to have more info on how fast they can ramp up with this new supplier and the new test. ...

Hi Grant: I hope the small production run is/was successful. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. Looking forward to hearing how things are progressing, good news or bad. Cheers!

My reseller called me a few minutes ago and they said they just wrapped a meeting with BMD distributors and it seems like the camera could be available in Turkey something like February or March. I hoped to see the camera in my hands until end of January, so I am a bit sad now as you can guess because I just ordered SSDs and batteries from US and they will be delivered to me 1st or 2nd December.

They supply to me a camera for a whole day next week.. Now I just want to play with the camera with that chance because it seems like, I have a long time to have camera.. Damn!

hello forum,
i've been following the shipping threads for some time now. this morning i received word from my friend who works at the company i ordered from here in the US and they said this week they received an update from their rep at BM. unfortunately, it looks like i should have placed my pre-order much earlier - there are approx 300 pre-orders ahead of me so they anticipate my order won't be shipped in March or April. i'm so frustrated, but still can't wait to get this beautiful camera. i guess this is the price to pay for innovation.

if any others have received cameras, please let us know who you ordered it from and when you placed your preorder. i placed my pre-order with Adorama in July.

thanks!

Don't feel bad, Marcs. I pre ordered from Adorama in October, hehehe. We don't know what full production means to BMD, so let's not speculate on the wait time. I think we'll be surprised after the camera goes into full production.

i guess i assumed Adorama got some sort of update about production, otherwise they wouldn't have told me march-april time frame. hope i'm wrong and you're right!

i want to be optimistic also, but until BMD gives a definitive answer as to what "full production" means, it is probably a safer bet to remain skeptical about a sooner-rather-than-later ship date. it feels more logical to trust my reseller here...bmd feel free to correct me with real numbers!

it seems like most on this forum would agree there are 1000s of pre-orders (800 alone from bhphoto) so i think it is rational to not get too excited about getting our cameras too soon! even if bmd can produce 100s per month, there are a TON of pre-orders for this great little camera.

cheers,

ms

If its a smaller manufacturer then whatever is announced at Nab probably wont be available for several months, by NAB BM would have lost year of head start but that isn't much time to get a complicated product to market.

The only thing that can really entice me over Blackmagic are cameras with the same image and more framerate options, I'm invested in MFT lenses at the moment so a bigger sensor wouldn't do it, unless it was the step up to a MFT sensor.

I might wait for NAB if my camera isn't projected to arrive until March, but seriously who is going to come out with a competitor? All the major camera companies have recently refreshed their lineup (although panasonic could hardly be called a refresh), I'm no longer interested in the compromise of DSLR shooting; gopro is rumored - however I see gopro as a flash in the pan type company like flip was. Pretty soon cell phones will be shock and water resistant and then gopro is dead.

It seems that real competition for the BMCC is really not all that far off at all.

This via FXguide:

Mini Kineraw announced (Via Matthew Allard (mattaljazeera) on Twitter) There will be Kineraw MINI very soon.

Features:

Only record CinemaDNG codec, No Cineform codec
Much smaller and lighter than KR. May be in your palm.

Same Sensor with KR, so it is S35 too. Same amzaing image quality then.
Fanless
Build-in Li+ Battery which may work 5 hours
Single SSD
Dual HDMI, but No build-in SDI
Same mounting system with KR, electronic Iris EF mount support
Audio is 2.5mm MIC in.

starting from 3999 USD release date TBA

I read about it few days ago and I was liking it.. But my only trouble with it is the HDMI.. I don't like them I prefer hd-sdi output.. I mean this is to be camera for professional work, why do companies still insist on including HDMI and eliminating sdi port.. Include them both but if you had to choose one, I think the choice is an sdi port is more reasonable and efficient..
