It was a pretty good camera due to some flaws a year ago. Today there is a few more contestants with accuall cameras on the market!

Yes, I know some people in Spain who already have one, at least 2 in Barcelona and 2 in Madrid(EF model).

I think people who ordered MFT deserves a little more respect, about whats happening and the info stream. One month without any info is not nice(adding that the info yet have been "We're still shipping EF").

Fabian I called yesterday to all spanish resellers and only "Mas que video" have received more than 3 cameras. The rest of resellers are still waiting some news. I ordered in Mass Digital and at the moment the only have received one camera, 4-5 weeks ago. I think BM have exceeded their sales expectations and they can´t produce more and faster (but it´s not our fault they should fix it). If it´s true they must give customers REAL information about when and where they are shipping the cameras. Then you can choose if you´ll wait for the camera (one year later with the same price) or look for other alternatives. This silence of BM can only bring more cancellations. So Please, stop posting useless and empty information and let us know, when you are planing to send cameras to EUROPE massively as USA or I will be the next canceling my order.

Updates are urgent needed.

I think it´s time for a new update, specially for the ones who ordered our cameras to Europeans ressellers.
Please, people of Blackmagic, give us some solid info. so we can decide if we keep waiting or cancel our orders.
Stop playing with our time/money!

MFT model still "shipping in December" on the website. This is called misleading advertising and It´s not a Joke to play with.

No.. like i said before it is a serious infringement of the law that can lead to a total prohibition any kind of sales!!... not just the camera!!! any sale!! any product!! Do you listen Mr Petty??
At least it is like that in Europe

I might cancel my reserve.. but i will not die without killing!!

It is really a waste of time to wait for another update. I don´t think that Mr. Grant Petty would give us some real information. And if he do it, what he would say: "Hey guys, things are looking well, sensors are coming in small amounts, bla bla bla , bla bla bla"...
So i think is a matter of making decisions on what to do with my order. Meanwhile they are making a huge amount of money, for sure.

Hi have bought my camera at BPM Germany too. How did you know what number you were on the list? I have no idea that BPM have a list.

Based on what's been going on I am pretty sure they mean next December...

NAB is right around the corner. With it I hope there will be exciting announcements from other manufacturers. Would be nice to order a camera from a company that cares about its customer base.

I actually feel sick to my back teeth reading in another post that 6 cameras were available over the counter in the US.

BLACK MAGIC SORT IT OUT! There is literally hundreds if not thousands of us waiting in the UK and thousands more across Europe!

My reseller CVP is getting 1-2 cameras a week and are still only shipping orders from the 18th of April... DO YOU REALISE THAT IS ALMOST A YEAR AGO??? If CVP continue to get 1-2 cameras a week, that will mean I might JUST get my camera before Christmas.

PLEASE TELL US WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!! I am so upset. Something I want to bad has made me hate your company so much!

Slightly OT: would anyone of the ones that received their cam already mind to share the dimensions and weight of the original BMCC backage? Thanks a lot!

Hello guys,

I've just stepped out of the dark and registered with this forum for a single reason: To illustrate that it's not always "the same people whining". I've been following this thread since I've ordered the MFT model in January (this year) from a large German dealer. I've read many unnecessary harsh things here, but mostly serious concern.
While I do appreciate the amazing possibilities BMCC offers to all of us potentially, the incredibly long shipping delay feels just strange. Luckily I do not consider myself dependent on this camera, but I must say I've never before seen issues like we're experiencing here. Even new versions of Microsoft Windows seem to be released way more on schedule. Well, almost.

So my conclusion is there must still be very serious problems with one or more sub-contractors or severe difficulties of another kind (Canon lens allowance, for example) that altogether pose enormous legal threats to Blackmagic Design. I suspect that's the reason why information is so sparse.

I write this long post to give BM a hint that this thread is read not just by people who rant in (maybe understandable) long-term frustration or like to rant about just anything. In fact, I develop a strange interest in the question where all this will lead to. Personally, I strongly reject the "preorder this, preorder that" trend, i.e. "we will inform you when this product becomes available". Again with great respect to the idea the product BMCC represents - I consider this thread the meltdown of an incredibly bad marketing idea. To me, a product either is available, or it's not. Which means: The BMCC is much more not available than it is, sadly. Which indeed poses the question why the featured product on the Blackmagic Design website is this still largely unavailable camera. I ask myself: What is the plan behind this? It makes no sense at all to advertise a product like hell that has a waiting list like some hand-crafted designer furniture from a carpenter down the road working all by himself.

I will keep watching this strange story, still wait some time, cancel the order when I sense there won't be a happy end. I haven't lost hope yet, maybe there will be some explanation or even higher product output at last.

I actually feel sick to my back teeth reading in another post that 6 cameras were available over the counter in the US.

It has been explained several times on this forum that delivery to a re-seller depends on when they placed their orders with BMD. You could place your order early with a re-seller, but if they in turn place their order 2 months later, then you are 2 months late comparatively, with your friends who also ordered the same time as you did. Geographical location of the re-seller is also a factor. The only logical explanation to having cameras over the counter is the fact that those re-sellers ordered on time with their own money. If this is wrong then I stand corrected and would wonder why that happened.

I could literally kick myself for not going after that deal.

I thought "Naa, I'll just order the BMCC, I don't need a Red One"

That was a terrible mistake and i'll never let myself live it down, lol.[/quote]

I did the exact same thing! Figured I'd buy a Blackmagic instead of RED. But yeah found someone selling one in the states for an awesome price! So grabbed it!

Absolutely true, Adrian.

Yes Art, and it's also been mentioned that CVP in the UK says that it ordered stock just as soon as the camera was announced at NAB last year - that's to say as early as it was possible to order without having a time machine. That hasn't helped it get more than a pitiful supply. The frustration here is because Blackmagic won't explain what's gone wrong, or even admit that there's a problem.

In terms of specific information I would like to see in an update -

Have you yet reached what you would consider to be full scale mass production? In other words, the bottle neck is no longer the parts - but simply the output of the factory.

I ask this to try and work out whether EU shipments will ever actually increase from as much as 2 a week, or if its indicative of as good as it's going to get.

I don't expect to get a very thorough answer to this question, but perhaps it will help you to gauge more specifically why some of us would like an update.

Unbelievable. BM has nothing to say in this topic but in the Announces posts comments at least twice at week.
This disrespect for your customers it´s not usual of a large company. I don´t understand why some resellers don´t have already any camera in EU and you can buy one in a store of Japan. Only two explanations. You are lying to customers or you are lying to customers and also your distribution system is pathetic.

I have waited too long, and I really want this camera but it´s impossible to wait with this treatment.
I´m going to write a complain form to your company and copy to Consumers Association in Spain to denounce your misleading advertisement and your lack of information. I will probably understand that you can not send 1.000 cameras at week but then stop taking more orders from people who have to pay at least 30% of the camera (100% my case) and never know when they arrive. So you are scamming people.

Of course I will cancel my order and request a refund and see what´s new in NAB. My patience is gone.

Tomorrow will be exactly one month from the last update, and also a friday (which is the day they usually update).

Bring it grant. Do me a favor and dont say the same phrase youve been saying since december:
Mft models are "ready to go"
I also remember you not "seeing the point" in building them back then, how about now?

No shipping in Europe since december, where we had 1 per shop, for demo...

I hope Blackmagic will use the word APOLOGIZE this time (for the next "lol-update"), I think they used it 1 time since July 2012, when we should have had the camera...

Oh, wait... that's right, I didn't. :)

I would be nice to see just how many orders they've processed vs outstanding orders +pre-sales.

To BMD: info is most definitely needed by us folks here... I don't want to have to pay more for another camera setup.

Please tell us these will ACTUALLY ship. Some of us have been longtime BMD customers...

I wrote it down here a few days ago and i write it again!
This situation needs a real update.

We need to know if is going to take 4,8, or 14moths to fullfill all back orders. And the same applys for the MFT. they will start shipping in ???? and it will take x amount of moths to fullfill preorders....
So we know where we stand, and for all those who place a new order they will know if they are buying a camera for this year or not.

At the moment the situations is;
BM advertise a camera, sell it, and then say:
- ''we will send more cameras next moth''
and next moth:
- ''we are happy with the numbers now, we will sending more cameras during the next moth''
and the next moth:
- '' We send more cameras and when we send a lot more we will start with the MFT''
and the next moth:
- ''We want to keep sending cameras and then we star sending MFT''....... and so on.......

(couse if what we see in this forum is truth and people are not getting their cameras MFT or EF) If this was a company with a bit less reputation i will say: people get your money and run.
But we trust BM... Do we? so what it is:

1) they dont say anything couse we are here for a long run,, and people will get their orthers by 2014 if everything works as it suppose to.
2) they dont really know the answer themselfs? ...Scary
3) they know but you get it when you get it and good luck...

I have followed this thread for a month now and have not read any news regarding B&H pre-orders. In my case I placed my order on July the 2nd, and being an International order, I had to pay for the camera IN FULL. That means that I have been waiting for MY BMCC (It is mine since I was charged the full amount already) for over 8 months.
Those US$3k would have already given me a few bucks in interest if I kept it in the bank I guess...
If I'm disappointed about the lack of information from BMD, and the unexpected long delay to fulfill orders, I add to that the fact that B&H has not done anything (other than send emails about my "backordered" camera statuts) to keep me happy, me being one of many (I guess) International customers who have already paid and literally own the "missing" BMDCC.
I'd expect at least a freebie from them (B&H) to compensate for months of delay to fulfill an already paid order.
That's the end of my rant...now back to being patient!

ITS SIMPLE:

BY NOW BMD MUST KNOW WHAT KIND OF FLOW OF CAMERAS ARE LEAVING THE FACTORY
AND HOW FAST ORDERS ARE BEING ERODED.

THIS MEANS THAT IN THE NEXT UPDATE IT WOULD BE ONLY FAIR (TO US WHO HAVE BEEN WAITING PATIENTLY FOR ALMOST A YEAR) TO GIVE US A INDICATION IF ITS GOING TO BE ANOTHER 1, 3, 6 or 12 MONTHS BEFORE ORDERS HAVE BEEN FULFILLED.

OR IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

I honestly don't think they give a flyin' about this angry mob.
The pre-order fee is for the retailer safety and not for BMD.
It's kinda obvious they don't care about pleasing the crowd.

I myself had to pay full upfront aswell so I hope I will be able to get my money back?!

This is what happens when you make a great product with relatively small margins. You cannot afford to increase the scale of your supply chain.

Just sell yourself to Apple already!

Hey bartman, I think your font size is nice
I ordered mine a little later, but anyway no cam yet..
I guess we have bad luck, and thats all we have for now.
Support or transparency from BM is something not existing for us.
Enjoy your bad luck and silence in the shipping game

I ordered my camera from Samy's Camera (Los Angeles) in mid-December and I just got the call that they received it.

I hope you enjoy your cameras, really I do. Do spare a thought for those of us in Europe still waiting for April 2012 orders, and Blackmagic's deafening silence on the subject.

The cameras appear to be selling daily on Ebay for about a 40% markup. I wonder if BM is selling any of these direct? It would only make sense.
