I finally received the tracking number… but the camera hasn’t moved.
Turns out it’s been pulled aside for customs inspection. No delivery estimate, no timeframe...
This shouldn’t be happening if the paperwork was filed correctly indicating the camera was returned for repair i.e. not a camera purchase. RETURN needs to be specified on the shipping document.
Thanks for the insight.
Indeed, this should not be happening — especially after a month-long RMA, with all paperwork presumably managed by Blackmagic itself.
My camera was returned for repair, not as a purchase. If the issue is with customs due to a missing “RETURN” label on the documentation, then I believe Blackmagic logistics must clarify this immediately.
As of today, the camera is still stuck in customs.
I’ve lost a job because of this delay, and now I have no idea when — or even if — the unit will arrive.
Support already confirmed the unit was shipped on May 9. That’s five days ago, and FedEx still shows no progress.
After weeks of back-and-forth, firmware installs I could have done myself, and no resolution for the actual freezing issue…
I think we all expect better.
