You called mhood something... we all saw it. I can't recall what but it was rather harsh and unfounded. You seem like an angry person. I wish you well and I don't know why you are this way but I hope whatever has made you so upset gets sorted out for your sake. God be with you man.

"act like an imbecile" (a reference to ones behavior)

"you are an imbecile" (calling someone a name)

Kinda different...

Just to set the record str8...I have never once in my entire life smashed a window and stolen a Cabbage Patch Doll. This is a clear case of mistaken identity. ...now if there were BMCs on display at a video store somewhere here in Texas...

We all know what you meant. Please move on.

Anyway's another update not telling us much but at least it was an update. I would still like numbers. How many are going out? Are we likely to see our pre-orders fulfilled by December?

Hmm but when someone is pro BMCC you call them Kool-Aid drinkers and mock them... when they criticize BMD you go nuts and call people names... where EXACTLY do you stand as to me it seems you are pro anarchy?

From reduser dot net (this offer is done/gone/over):

-----------------------------------------
Posted by Jarred Land on 10/14/12:

"I can't tell you much about it.. but we just did a massive project with a need for a pretty special 3 second shot, so they rented a whole truckload of Scarlets from us ... more Scarlets than most people have seen in their lifetime.

None of them had more than a minute of record time. We can't sell them as new.. and the rental was good.. so we are giving you guys a one time break on these as " Battle Tested " Scarlets.

$7100 instead of the regular $11,900. Scarlet Brain, Side SSD and Canon Mount. And because I know someone will ask, you can't swap the mount to a Nikon or PL for this deal.

They come with the standard Battle Tested 90 day warranty.. but we will open up RED ARMOR just on these since we were with them 100% of the time that they were out of the box and are as close to brand new as you can get. "

Honestly, I'd rather pay $3k for what I can get from BMCC over $3k+++++ for a Red.

Agreed.

I used to own a relatively expensive camera (see below), but then I decided I'd rather own a house (and live in a more pleasant city), so my financial priorities shifted. Sold that cam, among other things, moved to a new city -- and into my current home -- [Note: Cam sale did not pay for house! (grin)] and now happily own much less expensive cameras, and rent expensive cams as needed. Other folks make different decisions for a wide range of reasons. Whatever makes folks happy is all good. Cheers.

Yep I thought so too but with all this sitting on my hands waiting for something great to come, (which didnt) so I grabbed the brass ring and ran with it ;)
I dont mind paying for the extras, I needed them anyway.
All but RED specific items (e.g. LCD Touch, REDMAG SSD and DSMC Side handle...) can be used with any camera and that will be the BMCC when if it ever lands.
I saved 4800 for this camera, now hoping it doesnt drop that much for a new one or I will be cancelling and re-adjusting for a new Scarlet.
Only bad thing is that it will push delivery back a month (I think).

Well, here is another no update "update" from Grant today. These just keep getting worse!

"We are going to give an update in a few days, however we are shipping cameras, but less than we want to be. We are trying to get more schedule information from the supplier and will have an update once they can give us some numbers. We are only getting sensors in small batches, but they are working to improve speed. So we are shipping cameras, but just need to get it faster.

Will have more news soon.

Regards,

Grant"

Regardless of where you live, it's a first world problem having to decide between a $3K camera or one that costs 2-4 times as much.

But I do feel for you bro! ;)

Cheers.

Sony NEX-FS700UK Super 35 Camcorder with 18-200mm Lens and Sony HVR-Z7U HDV Camcorder are better than BMCC! Well, at least they are not ghosts ! C100 is on the way!

BMD, here is a great proposal. Sale your "invention" to any of the experienced camera makers? It will turn your migraine into cash. Just stick to what you know best; which is capture cards!

Spoke to someone in sales today and was told they're shipping very small amounts as of now ,as they are still experiencing some defective sensors....not all...and that they're shipping in accordance to preorder dates so first people to preorder will receive first come first serve....as my reseller is the actual per order source I'm not sure as to when I'd be receiving mine...but she said most likely after the new year .....NOW THAT SUCKS....

I like this bit from creative video on the F5 page: -

These cameras are an active demonstration that Sony are determined to regain the ground lost over the last 5 years or so to competitors such as RED (With the RED One, Epic, Scarlet), Canon (EOS 5D, C300) and (if they ever deliver) Blackmagic Design (Cinema Camera) because they appear to have taken note of all of their rival’s key features and combined them all to create what appears to be the most versatile and capable mid-market digital cinematography camera.

Yeah, if the ever deliver indeed.
