BMCC 4k and 1080P

Is there any truth to the rumor circulating on various forums that the soon—or eventually—to be released 4k camera will initially only record in 4k and not 1080P?

The released info is that it will shoot in 4K and 1080p in ProRes 422 HQ or RAW.

Nothing official beyond that has been released.

It's questions like these that help spread such rumors. Just don't take anything for true unless you read it in one of the rare official statements.

One need only look at the tech specs on the Blackmagic 4K product page and see that it shoots 1080p RAW and ProRes and 4K RAW and ProRes.
