Free 444 pages guide to Davinci Resolve

PostWed Dec 18, 2019 5:55 am

BMD has apparently released a free guide for DV Resolve beginners with a user certification program:

Enjoy!

Yes, that's great! Although, the links on the "Contents" pages (iii-viii) are broken, they all take to the page 2 (at least in Preview app). The guide would be more enjoyable, if the links were correct, taking to the right page.

FYI, Ripple Training recently released a good (and BMD-certified) basic training tutorial for Resolve 16; they also released a tutorial totally devoted to Fairlight. I'd like to see some more advanced tutorials for editing in Resolve and perhaps more depth on Fairlight as well, but these are good introductions and I learned quite a few things despite using Resolve for a couple of years now.

This became available on December 3rd. You’re two weeks late to the party. Didn’t even have to study to pass the exam.

The certificates back then looked way better than the ones today! The ones I have look like a 1st Grader's participation award; just plain text, logo, your name, and signature.

I’ll bet Tim uses that chart as a focus test on his lenses. Lots of fine detail in the corners.

LOL!

I mean, I've printed out some good focus charts in the past. But, I've never printed out the certificates for Resolve. Although I agree the older ones look better than the new ones.

I'm sure a Resolve 19 Certificate will be available soon.
