MFT w/ PL vs. EF.

PostThu Aug 08, 2013 7:44 pm

Not being anal retentive, just sincerely trying to get a straight answer on this as I cannot find it anywhere:

If I had two cameras: MFT w/ PL adapter and EF BMCC, and I had a Zeiss CP.2 lens on both of them (PL mount and EF mount respectively) would the crop factor in camera be exactly the same or would the PL mount version be using more of the glass? I've never found anywhere online that gave a straight answer on this issue (and it is an issue because I'm trying to decide which lens package to go with).

I have an EF mount BMCC, and if the crop factor is the same I will just rent the EF cp.2 set. But if more of the glass is used on an MFT mount w/ a PL adaptor I'll rent the PL version of the lenses.

I hope the new 4K version's sensor is as good as the 2.5k. I'm tired of crop factors...

Thanks in advance,
-Matt Lynn

Both the MFT and the EF versions of the BMCC have the same sensor and crop factor.

So the same CP.2 lens will be the same on both cameras.

thank you! :) I didn't know if the depth of the mount had any effect on the image size hitting the sensor.
