I didnt realize they just pulled out.

I snipped the plastic stems and 2 of the stems are too far inside the Camera and I can't grab them with needle nose pliers.
Now I dont know if they will be fine or if they can float around inside Camera and cause damage and if I need to send Camera to Black Magic to have them removed.

I guess there are no moving parts inside camera housing to worry about.
My main concern is if these plastic bits will somehow reach the sensor if i tilt the camera.

The good news if that if they reach the sensors they will fall out through the lens opening!

I emailed Black Magic, they said "there shouldn't be any outstanding issues with leaving the plugs of the port covers inside their receptacles"

Im feeling more at ease... I guess.

Is it not possible to gently pull the caps out? Do we have to snip them??

I have removed the flaps/doors from two PCC bodies by simply pulling them straight out.

They must have been installed by machine at the factory, and can be re-inserted much like corks in a wine bottle, by compressing the conical head and firm pressure.

is there confirmation that the covers/caps can be re-inserted?

Sometimes I really like to get rid of them, on the other hand I appreciate them. I guess they stick to the body by themselves, without the stems (when you cut the stems with a knife). I just wish to keep the covers intact, and remove them for certain situations.

I kept my caps and I’m sure they can be reinserted if you want.

It will depend on how you set your cameras up, and the permanence of your setup (see my setup image).

The second image is the of the bottom flap, and its tail, the conical point visible. It is shaped much like an arrow tip, narrowed on both sides. It would appear easy, with needle-nosed pliers, to hold and re-insert the tail back into its hole. Don't cut it from the body, just pull it out.

Another question: I've never seen an angled HDMI cable, only angled adapters. Is this a cable or an adapter in your picture? Looks like a cable ... can you tell which brand?

The HDMI connection is a cable: right-angle Male HDMI to straight Female HDMI socket, purchased thru Amazon. Be careful when buying since the male HDMI end is available Left- or Right-insert-handed. Examine the PCC's HDMI socket matched to the cable illustrations.

You will have more room and more cable options if you purchase a straight-in Male cable. However, I am connecting to any or all six PCC inputs including the XLR, and wanted the above five cables out of the way and permanent. The top four cables are each terminated with a Female socket, each about 15-18" in length. The USB cable is connected to the top-attached T5 SSD.

I have removed the caps and also put them back in, Its 100% possible. I just used a pin or something small (I forget) to push them back into the holes.

At some point, someone made a single piece rubber port cover that could be pushed on and pulled off as needed.

I'm not seeing it on Google anymore, so perhaps the idea never took off.

It’s totally possible to gently pull them out.. I did and had no issue. Just apply the pressure gradually and of course carefully.

I wish I was more responsible and googled the information on the caps before cutting them, because the little pieces remaining, fell back in the camera body, leaving two little holes exposed.
Even though I emailed Black Magic and asked if it would hurt the camera, they said no, it will be fine.

But it annoys me, and now I have to send it to Black Magic and pay them to remove them from inside camera and put new caps on.

Hope someone out there reading this can learn from my mistake... DO NOT cut them off.

Lots of people here seem interested in getting rid of these covers. My question is: who has pulled them off and still has them? I had an intern rip the HDMI cover off and throw it away. I want to replace it. Anyone have one they can give/sell to me?
