Hi guys,

I'm looking for a decent, relatively cheap but reliable follow focus for my BMPCC.

This is what I found so far:

1) Opteka FF180 Reversible Follow Focus --

Any better suggestions? I'm also looking at some kind of standard rail system/base plate to attach the follow focus. Money is an issue, and I don't want to spend a fortune on this.

For the price D|Focus is a decent follow focus http://dfocussystem.com/dfocus-45

You can also pick up a D|Mount ( http://dfocussystem.com/dmount ) from them for another $90 and mount it without a rail system which is a good option if you're on a budget.

Inexpensive, works well and is quick to ship.

I don't recommend this as a main follow focus when using a camera rig, but I got two of these through Kickstarter and they come in quite handy when you're not all rigged up. Just camera, lens, and one of these: http://www.focusshifter.com/follow-focus-dslr/

I ordered a follow focus and mattebox from kamerar.com. The price was great, compared to others I've seen. Haven't gotten them yet, so I can't comment on my own experience, but you may want to look at them.

Has anyone used the D|Focus FF?

I was thinking Lanparte or Tilta but the D|Focus is much cheaper...

Yes, and for the price it's very good, I haven't used the V4 yet but I have used the V3 and the only complaint I had about it was that it felt plasticky, the V4 appears to have a slightly more solid construction.

It definitely isn't on the same level as the many more expensive alternatives (mostly in terms of build-quality) but for under $200 it's pretty damn good and it'll do the job effectively.

I've been using the Ifocus for the past year, and it's been great. Plus you ca get some really good deals for it on ebay.
