Hi Everyone
Just put up a blog post and short movie filmed this week:
http://www.moviemachine.tv/post/opinion ... magic-cin/In this I give an impression of why I believe the BMCC has dropped in price by a third - and show how stunning the images are from the BMCC (EF) using a mix of Canon EF and Nikon lenses.
Cheers - more soon,
Rick

I share your opinion of the motives of the price reduction and enjoyed your video. Will be interesting to see how you feel if and when you can shoot with the BMPCC and the BMPC4K.

Thanks for the beautiful footage. I've commented a couple times on the price drop but I'm sure yours is the more informed opinion.
As a hobbyist who does a small number of corporate videos, I am going back and forth on whether I have any business looking at a BMD camera. I was initially interested in the Pocket but then thought I should just get the GH3 given all the shipping delays. But then again, I'm not ready to buy just yet. After thinking about the price drop, I realized that because my wife owns several EF-S lenses, I might consider the BMCC-EF.
What gives me pause are the problems reported on this forum. I realize no product is problem free but I am wondering if issues that are merely annoying to established film makers (i.e. who have more technical knowledge, other equipment, etc.) are show-stoppers for hobbyists or those just getting started on a limited budget.
I have a great PC (i7 Sager Notebook that flies) and a subcription to Premiere CC and plan to use ProRes initially. So I think I can handle the output.
But does every user have the audio problem or just some? How many BMCC users have no significant problems at all? How many are finding the problems too big to overcome?
Not necessarily expecting anyone to answer these questions but this is what I'm thinking while I save my pennies.
EDIT: I should add, that if the BMD mission is to democratize the tools, then they will be coming into contact with more people who not only want the tools to work as advertised, but who need them to work as advertised (i.e. all their eggs will be in one basket because that is all they can afford). Problems need to be fixed in a regular and timely fashion. It sounds like the audio problem is going on a year now.
