Proud new owner of a M4/3 Blackmagic Cinema Camera. Just got my Metabones speed booster in and after spending almost $500 I wanted to see if it did all the things it claimed.

To be honest - you can see almost nothing in your video. Shoot something where you can judge contrast, sharpness etc. This video is almost meaningless. Especially because you didn't mentioned what brand of glass you used and what kind of speedbooster this is (Nikon? EF?)
It could be very interesting. But right now it doesn't help at all. Sorry.
Cheers

I tested mine on a GH2, not in video only, but shooting photos of test charts.
Mine is the C/Y version and I tested with some of the best glass from Zeiss. It does everything it claims. Center is even sharper than original, edges are only a tad softer – in photography. Invisible in video.

Can't really tell anything from this test. And to be honest, I don't really care if speedbooster actually boosts speed. The situations where you want to shoot wide open are not that many. Thing that matters is that if you have a set of one brand lenses and you mix the shots with them with and without speedbooster they still retain the same look. Then even more important thing is that if the speed booster delivers good quality image and doesn't introduce new optical errors like chromatic aberration.

Thanks for sharing. So, what's your thoughts? It is amazing how it adds that little that was desired;)
I needed to see this test to make a final decision.

Mustn't also forget how it lessens the crop factor. You could get a Sigma 18-35mm and it would handle standard wides and normal FOV.
I have nothing but praise for the Nikon G to MFT speed booster. I like the fact it's a tight fit and nothing on it wobbles too. Was hoping for clickless aperture ring but can't have it all.

I don't think it could hurt to send an email to the engineering team at Metabones to let them know about the desire for a click-less aperture.

Btw metabones does everything their product claims to do. This is just a test to see how it performs on a rather soft lens wide open, also how it handles halation and if it would cause any issues when used in conjunction with an anamorphic adapter. I lit it with only a candle because essentially the 1.4 f stop just became an f/1.0 and I wanted to test the dynamic range of the camera and how far it will dig into the shadows.
Lens is an old Nikkor 50 1.4 (pre ai)
If this test does nothing for you then go out and make your own.
